On August 24th, our senior seminar class welcomed 2017 WHS graduate, Bailey Cook, for a career presentation. Bailey graduated from Colby Community College in 2019 in the Physical Therapy Assistant program, and has since been employed as a licensed PTA at Southeast Colorado Hospital District Rehab unit.
Bailey’s presentation included information on course work to become at PTA, the process to obtain a license to practice, and what a PTA does to help patients. Bailey’s plan for the future includes continuing her education to earn a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy.
Thank you, Bailey, for taking the time to introduce us to a very interesting career field!

Student spotlight - Kadence Kunselman
Kadence recently created this pencil drawing after being inspired in her leathercraft class. Kadence really liked her teacher's demonstration artwork and decided to try her hand at creating her own floral design. Beautiful job, Kadence! We look forward to seeing more of your work in the future!

The Family Tailgate and Rent-An-Athlete was a huge success! A special thank you to Trina Cole (W Club Sponsor), Josh Wittler (Athletic Director), all the coaches, athletes, Steve Cogburn (auctioneer extraordinaire), Kyle Sniff (sound and technology), Denise Jones, North Fork Grain, cooks, parents, and community members who made the event possible. Go Eagles!

Don’t forget, the Family Tailgate and Rent-An-Athlete Auction is tonight! It will be held at the HS football field, not the park. Things will kickoff at 6:00 pm, so come a little early to get your parking space around the field. Hamburgers, chips, potato salad and bottled water will be served. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. Thank you to North Fork Grain for sponsoring this event!

Walsh Elementary- excited to be back in school !

The 2020-21 school year is off to a great start! JH and HS students began school on August 17th and were excited to see their friends and teachers. They spent the day attending classes, catching up with one another, and practicing school health and safety routines. Pictured below, TeAnna Sharpe, Kevin Rodriguez, Saul Carrillo-Gonzalez, D’Neil Doyle, Paul Lovato, and Mykenzie Penick look forward to an awesome SENIOR year!

Teachers, support staff, coaches, bus drivers, and administrators gathered for three days this week to learn and prepare for the upcoming school year. They participated in a workshop about growth mindset, showed their competitive spirits in team building activities, celebrated milestones, ate and laughed together, were trained in First Aid, and more. One thing is certain, our staff is the best!
