This week, the 7th grade made pasta and Orange Chicken and tried our hand at California Rolls. Every student made a batch of pasta. We will cook our pasta next week. The California Rolls(Sushi) was a challenge, and we will make another attempt.

Crews are pouring concrete for the gym floors today.

Sorry, I have been a bit late in posting about the 7th-grade Lifeskills class. This semester, we have been busy baking, cooking, budgeting, and learning about entrepreneurship. Everyone picked out something to cook or bake. Madilyn(chicken tortilla soup), Hope(filled donuts), Cassie(chocolate molten cake), Anthony(french fries), Emmie(tater tot casserole), Caitlyn(Coke-a-Cola cake), Pete(spaghetti), Jackson(smore cake), Cooper(churro donuts), Gunner(carne asada fries) - The 7th graders will be attending an Entrepreneurship Fair in Lamar next month. They have learned about business plans, including marketing/advertising, budgeting, and financial needs. The class has various business plans, including a food truck, babysitting, a mental health center, horse therapy, window cleaning, medical delivery, an auto body shop, a mechanic shop, and pet sitting. Today, we baked double chocolate chip cookies. In other news, the Eagle's Oven made enough money to purchase two new Kitchen Aid mixers.

The Eagle's Oven has added a drink cart to the menu. The JH/HS staff and students could order a flavored drink this afternoon. It was a nice way to kick off spring break. Students had a choice of lemonade, tea, coffee, pop, or Italian soda to mix with a flavor of their choice. Here are a few our test kitchen came up with for the menu. Dusty Paradise(coconut, pineapple Italian soda) Black Angus(Dr. Pepper, cream, coconut, raspberry) The GOAT(Rootbeer, Cream Italian soda) Cow Tank(coconut, lime Italian soda) The Howdy(caramel iced coffee & caramel drizzle)

The Eagle's Oven had a busy couple of weeks. Last week, the students made treat boxes for the Read Across America drawing winners. The class made Lorax Rice Krispie treats, Dr. Seuss Cupcakes, Green Egg Sugar Cookies, and Grinch Brownies. The winners took home a box of goodies for participating in each day's activities.
