Reminder: Walsh School District is a Pet-Free Campus
Walsh School District would like to remind our families, community members, and visitors that pets are not permitted inside our school buildings or at district athletic facilities and school-sponsored events.
We understand that pets are an important part of many of our families, and we certainly appreciate how much people enjoy having them along. However, with large numbers of students, staff members, athletes, and spectators using our facilities, maintaining a pet-free environment helps us provide a safe, clean, and comfortable setting for everyone.
There are several reasons for this practice. Some students and visitors may have allergies or a fear of animals, and even a well-behaved pet can react differently when surrounded by large crowds, noise, children, or other unfamiliar situations. Athletic events in particular can include loud cheering, whistles, buzzers, and considerable activity. Keeping pets at home helps us avoid unnecessary situations and allows everyone to concentrate on supporting our students.
This reminder applies to our school buildings as well as district athletic facilities and events. We ask spectators and visitors to please make arrangements to leave their pets at home when attending school activities.
Service animals are not considered pets. Trained service animals that meet the requirements of applicable law are permitted in district facilities and at school events. An animal that provides comfort or emotional support through its presence alone is not the same as a trained service animal under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Individual disability-related accommodation requests will be handled through the appropriate district process.
Our intent is not to make attending school activities more difficult for anyone. We simply want to maintain an environment that is safe and welcoming for our students, staff, families, and guests.
We appreciate everyone's cooperation and understanding. Thank you for helping us keep our campus safe and enjoyable while continuing to come out and support our students and activities.
Go Eagles! Purple Pride! 💜🤍
